The Danish monarchy is among the oldest in the world and can be traced back to Gorm the Old † 958. Chr. 4 was king from 1588-1648 and is the longest reigning monarch. The recipe is said to have been found at Holbæk Pharmacy and contained 16 different herbs. In ours, however, both Kalmus root and Paradisfrø are missing, as they are no longer allowed to be used.
